Full job description

At Power Engineering Consultants we employ Commissioning, Design and Planning engineers and we currently have vacancies for Trainee Design and Trainee Commissioning Engineers.

We do a lot of field work as well as some design in our office. The jobs are technical and, with us, you will develop a deep understanding of power systems, building on what you have studied so far. We are involved with protection relays at all voltage levels and for all applications and we commission generator control panels, mostly for turbines in the 5-50MW bracket. These panels have interesting excitation and automatic synchronising elements as well as protection relays and interfaces with DCS and other systems.

Our commissioning work is worldwide and this can mean a camp in the desert, a bunk on an oil rig or a 5-star hotel! If you want to use what you have studied, learn more about your subject, have responsibility while you are young and see the world, you cannot do better than join us.

Requirements:

A high level of technical ability and a sharp mind. A hunger to learn and become skilled. Practical ability, common sense and good presentation.

Qualifications :

First class M.Eng or equivalent with power systems subjects.
