Due to continued growth and the award-winning standard of our work, NorthHort Ltd is looking for an experienced Team Leader to lead one of our professional grounds maintenance teams.

About the Role
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading your team on a variety of commercial and high-end residential sites throughout Cheshire.
You won’t simply complete jobs you’ll take ownership of every site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the exceptionally high standards NorthHort is known for.
You’ll liaise closely with the Operations Manager, communicate with clients professionally and ensure your team delivers work everyone can be proud of.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead your team by example every day.
- Take ownership of site quality from arrival to completion.
- Deliver exceptional attention to detail on every visit.
- Build positive relationships with clients and represent NorthHort professionally.
- Liaise regularly with the Operations Manager regarding site progress, additional works and any issues.
- Organise your team to work safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work meets our quality standards before leaving site.
- Identify improvements and use your initiative to enhance sites throughout the seasons.
- Coach, mentor and develop operatives within your team.
- Carry out daily vehicle, machinery and equipment inspections.
- Complete Jobber CRM updates, site notes and photographs.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Grounds Maintenance Duties
- Grass cutting
- Strimming and edging
- Hedge cutting
- Shrub pruning
- Planting
- Weed control (PA1 & PA6)
- Lawn care
- Leaf clearance
- Litter picking
- Seasonal maintenance
Additional works may include:
- Turfing
- Seeding
- Mulching
- Soft landscaping
- Pressure washing
- Planting schemes
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about the standard of their work.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum 3 years’ experience in grounds maintenance or horticulture.
- Hold a full UK driving licence (essential).
- Hold PA1 & PA6 qualifications (preferred).
- Hold a Level 2 Horticulture qualification or equivalent experience.
- Have excellent plant knowledge.
- Be confident leading a small team.
- Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Have excellent organisational skills.
- Take pride in producing work of the highest standard.
- Work proactively using their own initiative.
- Be reliable, punctual and dependable.
- Be calm under pressure and able to meet deadlines.
- Have a positive attitude and a willingness to continuously improve.
