We are passionate about delivering delicious, freshly prepared meals that bring comfort, enjoyment, and quality to residents every day.As our business continues to grow, we are expanding into wider catering services including community events, a planned community café, and authentic Indian cuisine offerings. We are looking for a talented Chef who is excited to be part of a developing business and help bring fresh ideas, creativity, and high standards to our kitchen.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Chef to take ownership of the kitchen operation as their own and truly put their own stamp on the role through menu creation, food development, and helping shape the future of an exciting and growing business.We are looking for someone with a genuine passion for food, strong culinary skills, and the ability to create wholesome, flavourful dishes while maintaining excellent kitchen standards and organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking nutritious, high-quality meals for residents and catering clients
- Creating and developing seasonal menus, including traditional home-style meals and Indian cuisine options
- Catering for dietary requirements, allergens, and nutritional needs
- Supporting catering operations for community events and external functions
- Assisting in the future development of a community café service
- Managing stock control, ordering, stock rotation, and minimising waste
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and food safety compliance in line with HACCP regulations
- Ensuring Environmental Health standards are consistently met
- Working closely with management and wider team members to deliver an excellent dining experience
- Supervising kitchen operations and ensuring efficient day-to-day service
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Chef within the hospitality, catering, restaurant, or similar sector
- Previous care sector experience is not essential
- Knowledge or experience of Indian cuisine would be advantageous
- Relevant catering or culinary qualifications
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen responsibilities confidently
- Passion for delivering excellent food and service
- Creative flair with menu planning and presentation
- Flexible and reliable approach to working hours
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS check may be required
Working Hours & Contract
- Variable hours
- Zero-hour contract
- Weekend working required
- Split shifts may be required depending on business needs
