Description:
Purpose/Objective: To carry out day-to-day maintenance and repair of light manufacturing equipment used in the production of specialist headgear. This is a practical, shop-floor-based role within a small manufacturing team, supporting production by keeping equipment and facilities operating safely and efficiently.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintain, repair and carry out general upkeep of production machinery and equipment.

Complete routine planned maintenance and safety checks in line with the site’s Planned Maintenance Scheme (PMS).

Respond to minor breakdowns and carry out basic fault-finding to minimise production disruption.

Support the maintenance of factory services, including lighting and small power supplies.

Assist with general mechanical maintenance.

Carry out occasional work at height in accordance with site procedures.

Travel occasionally to other company manufacturing sites, as required.
Requirements:
Skills and Abilities:

Hands-on maintenance experience within a manufacturing or production environment.

Basic electrical knowledge, such as fault-finding on machinery, sensors, switches and motors.

General understanding of mechanical systems used in production machinery.

Ability to read and follow basic engineering drawings and manuals.

Full UK driving licence.

Basic computer skills for logging maintenance tasks.

A practical and sensible approach to Health & Safety.

Qualifications/Experience:

Previous maintenance experience in a factory or manufacturing environment.

Electrical qualification is advantageous but not essential.

Mechanical or multi-skilled background welcomed.

Experience with small presses, moulding, or assembly equipment would be beneficial.
