Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, wallpaper, and decorative finishes to various surfaces within residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires attention to detail, a high standard of workmanship, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
- Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
- Mixing paints and colours to achieve desired shades and textures
- Protecting surrounding areas by using masking tape, drop sheets, and other protective measures
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition
- Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
- Strong understanding of colour matching and surface preparation
- Excellent communication skills in English for liaising with clients and team members
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Valid driving licence is preferred for travelling between sites
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights
