Principle Objective
As a member of a small team, the job holder will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of site, plant and equipment. The role requires flexibility, carrying out a range of tasks from plant operation, cleaning, basic maintenance, and mobile plant operations, in a safe and efficient manner.
The role will initially focus on energy plant operations, but the position is flexible and may include further training and working across the site where required.
Knowledge & Experience
– Experience in machine operation would be an advantage
– Good communication skills - both written and verbal
– Ability to listen to, and understand, work and general instructions
– Hands on and flexible attitude
– Ability to work both on your own and within a small team
– Willingness to operate mobile plant – training will be provided
– Full, clean licence preferable
Key Responsibilities
– To set a positive example in all areas of compliance and encourage a culture of ownership and personal responsibility
– Pro-actively comply with all the Company’s Health and Safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures
– Operators may be required to use a variety of mobile plant. Full training will be provided.
– Loading/Unloading of lorries
– Loading shovel operation – predominately moving wood fibre/pellets
– Forklift truck operation – various site tasks
– Telehandler operation – various site tasks
– Ensure that all agreed quality standards are adhered to
– Ensure that stock is maintained at agreed levels
– Regularly review production processes and liaise with Management to develop working practices and methods to optimise resources
– Liaise with maintenance personnel to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out and downtime is minimised
– Advise Team-leader of any circumstances that impact adversely on the running of the plant
– Make positive contributions in team meetings with specific reference to production, maintenance and Health & Safety matters
– Participate in training events organised by the Company
– Maintain appropriate production records
– Daily checks on mobile plant

Contract
Contract Type Permanent: Hours Full time, 84 hours per fortnight:
Week one: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
Week two: Monday, Tuesday
