MTC Training is an multi-award winning Independent Training Provider delivering high quality engineering apprenticeships and upskilling training courses.
The role of Curriculum Leader (Higher Education) is fundamental in meeting MTC Training vision. You will be responsible for the implementation of a robust curriculum for in centre delivery and for the work-based development of the apprentice in conjunction with our employer partners. This role will also lead on the Level 4 – Level 6 development and delivery for both Apprenticeships and Higher Education courses, delivered directly and with partners.
Through inspiring leadership, you will support and manage the higher education delivery for relevant Engineering Trainers to monitor, track and report on the progress of learners from the start of their apprenticeship through to EPA.
Key Activities:

Support and manage Engineering Trainers as required for Higher Education delivery

Monitor, track and report on the progress of L4+ / Higher Education provision

Support the development of high quality teaching material to ensure it meets the requirement of Apprenticeship Duties, KSBs and any relevant qualification learning outcomes

Support the Level 4 – Level 6 development and delivery for both Apprenticeships and Higher Education courses.

Support the Quality Team by leading and completing Internal Quality Assurance of assessment briefs and assessments.

Support the Quality Team to prepare for the Academic Management Review and External Examiner engagement.

Lead HE Academic Board meetings

Build induction plans for new colleagues delivering HNC and provide support through coaching and mentoring

To support the Centre Head & Curriculum Manager responsible for Higher Education in delivering the provision of an innovative, effective and efficient curriculum offer that meets the needs of Learners and employers in line with national, regional and local government agenda

Work with national Curriculum Teams to manage the delivery of HE programmes to a consistent high standard.

Provide learners with Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance for HE programme enrolments and progression to further HE programmes as well as CEIAG for High Level apprentices.
Qualifications:
Essential

Level 4+ qualification such as a Degree / Masters

Experience of Internal & External Quality Assurance (IQA/EAQ) Activity

A full teaching qualification is an essential requirement. As is significant experience/expertise in education (F.E / H.E or apprenticeships)
Desirable

An IV qualification, TAQA L4 or equivalent

Engineering Industry expertise would be advantageous but is not essential

Qualified to minimum Level 3 in Engineering would be advantageous as would industry expertise but is not essential

The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established in 2010 as an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry – often referred to as ‘the valley of death’.
It represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and, after four years of planning and a 16 month build, the facility opened at Ansty Park in Coventry at the end of 2011.
In December 2011, there were 16 industrial members, 44 staff and just a few key pieces of equipment in the ‘workshop’.
Over the following seven years the MTC’s rapid growth has seen the expansion of our campus with the construction of three more facilities, including the opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre and the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing.
Our role has also increased to cover not only R&D but also Training, Advanced Manufacturing Management and Factory Design.
We now have over 700 talented employees working with us.
During this time we have helped hundreds of companies across a range of industries and over 100 of them have become members of the MTC.
