About the Service

We are recruiting for an experienced Service Manager to lead a team based delivering a temporary accommodation service on behalf of the local authority.

The service has a number of units of accommodation from family homes to shared HMO accommodation across Stratford District providing temporary accommodation while individuals are awaiting for appropriate move on accommodation. The service supports people with a range of needs - including mental health challenges, trauma, substance use, offending histories, reduced mobility or previous rough sleeping – to stabilise, maintain their accommodation and build the skills and confidence needed for independent living when accommodation becomes available.

You will manage an established team of up to 4 staff working Monday to Friday based in Stratford Town Centre working in partnership with Stratford District Council’s Housing Options Team, Spring Housing maintenance team and external stakeholders to deliver a high-quality temporary accommodation service. This is a fast-paced role with some households being referred into the service only being accommodated for a couple of weeks, with some individuals being accommodated for months. No two days are the same, and the role requires someone with excellent time management skills to manage requests form both internal and external stakeholders.

Service Coordination and Oversight Responsibilities

· Act as the day‑to‑day operational lead for the service, ensuring routines, standards and expectations are consistently applied.

· Coordinate referrals, move‑ins and pre‑matching decisions in line with safe‑mix principles

· Maintain oversight of occupancy, planned move‑ons and void readiness.

· Act as the main liaison point for visiting professionals and partner agencies.

Quality & Compliance

Support the Service Manager with quality assurance, including file checks, support plan reviews and compliance monitoring.
Ensure statutory checks, health & safety tasks and property inspections are completed and recorded.
Escalate risks, safeguarding concerns and ASB appropriately in line with procedures.

What You’ll Do

· Manage your team to deliver structured, person‑centred support, using strengths‑based and, where required, trauma‑informed approaches.

· Help residents to develop practical independence skills (budgeting, cooking, cleaning, bills, routines).

· Support residents to understand and maintain their licence conditions and positive tenancy behaviours.

· Promote safety by identifying and responding to early warning signs of risk, ASB or safeguarding concerns.

· Work closely with professionals—including Housing, Adult Social Care, mental health teams, substance misuse services, health services and community agencies—to coordinate wrap‑around support.

· Ensure your staff team carry out core housing management tasks, including sign‑ups, property checks, repairs reporting and safety compliance.

· Support your team to support residents with benefit claims, housing applications and move‑on planning to achieve sustainable longer‑term accommodation.

· Maintain accurate records, risk assessments and support plans in line with NSE, NSHS and regulatory requirements.

· Support engagement with the local community, promoting positive neighbourhood relationships.

· Participate in a daytime rota, with occasional early evening or weekend work where required.

· Coordinate contact with Housing, Police, Community Safety and women‑specific services.

· Support the management of neighbour concerns and low‑level ASB issues, escalating where necessary.

· Maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders and contribute to community confidence.
