Job description
An exciting opportunity to work for one of the leading gas and electrical firms in the North of England. We are now looking for experienced and reliable gas service and repair engineers to further compliment our great team of Engineers.
To install, commission, and test gas, oil, or electric boiler systems in residential and commercial properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with current regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new boiler and central heating systems.
- Remove and safely dispose of old boilers and associated equipment.
- Install pipework, radiators, cylinders, controls, and associated heating components.
- Commission heating systems and carry out operational testing.
- Complete system flushing and water treatment where required.
- Ensure all installations comply with current Building Regulations and Gas Safety Regulations.
- Carry out gas tightness testing and safety checks.
- Explain system operation and controls to customers.
- Complete installation certificates and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate records using paper or digital job management systems.
- Identify and report any additional work required.
- Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and serviceable.
- Adhere to company health and safety policies.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proven experience installing domestic heating systems.
- Strong plumbing and heating knowledge.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and installation instructions.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience with air source heat pumps or renewable heating systems.
- Unvented hot water qualification.
- Experience with smart heating controls.
- Commercial boiler installation experience.
Qualifications
Essential
- Valid Gas Safe Registration.
- ACS Gas Qualifications (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1).
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
Desirable
- LPG qualifications.
- Oil (OFTEC) qualifications.
- Water Regulations certificate.
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
