We're looking for an experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, applying sound engineering judgement and pushing beyond standard design approaches.

About JPSE

JPSE (John Plummer Sustainable Engineering) Ltd. and Screwpile Technology form part of the JPSE Holdings group of companies. We specialise in the design, manufacture, and installation of sustainable, innovative Structural Engineering solutions for projects where traditional construction techniques simply don’t cut it.

Our work includes:

Designing multi-storey structures that can be delivered to site 'flat packed' without the need for craneage to erect them.
Designing zero-carbon steel foundations through the utilisation of repurposed steel.
Investing in research and development of novel structural engineering, manufacturing and construction solutions.
Applying structural engineering from first principles to deliver some of the lightest steel structures in the UK, measured by steel weight per square metre of floor area.

The Role

You will be involved in the design and delivery of a wide range of structural engineering projects, working alongside a dynamic, collaborative team committed to innovation, technical excellence and continuous improvement.

We are looking for engineers who can think independently, challenge assumptions where appropriate and apply engineering judgement to develop efficient and practical solutions.

What We're Looking For

Ideally Chartered or near Chartered.
Minimum 5 years' experience post-graduation.
Thorough grounding in structural engineering behaviour.
Free-thinking with the ability to exercise sound structural engineering judgement.
Excellent team-working and communication skills.
Absolute commitment to delivering technical excellence.
Proven ability to design structural steelwork solutions.
Experience designing in all common structural materials.
Experience in the design of load-bearing light gauge steel structures would be advantageous.
Proven ability to interpret ground conditions and design foundation solutions.
