Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and organised Solicitors Receptionist / Secretary to provide vital administrative support within our legal praxtice . This role involves managing front-desk duties, handling correspondence, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in IT and Microsoft Office applications, and demonstrate strong organisational abilities. This is a paid position suitable for individuals eager to contribute to a dynamic legal environment while developing their administrative expertise.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence efficiently
Schedule appointments, meetings, using organisational tools
Maintain and update case files and client records in accordance with data protection policies
Prepare documents using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Assist solicitors with administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and document organisation
Ensure the reception area remains tidy and welcoming at all times
Support the team with general administrative duties to facilitate smooth office operations

Requirements

Proven administrative experience, ideally within a legal or professional environment
typing skills with high accuracy and speed
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software applications quickly
Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail
Effective time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently
Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining professionalism
A friendly demeanour combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Experience in a solicitors office environment would be beneficial
