The selection process for this role will be:

Stage 1: Sift
At sift, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile element:
Experience you will be asked to provide a CV (unlimited wordcount) and personal statement (1000-word count). Please provide evidence of your experience of the following:

leading large-scale operational teams, with a strong track record of delivering stretching targets, driving service excellence, and leading through significant change.

contributing at senior leadership level beyond your function, working collaboratively to deliver directorate priorities and embed a one team ethos.

ability to communicate and influence at all levels, including senior boards and committees, and to engage diverse teams using insight to build trust and create an inclusive, high-performing culture.
The sift will take place between Monday 10th August & Wednesday 12th August 2026.
Stage 2: Interview
At interview stage, you will be assessed against the following Success Profile elements:

Technical Operational Delivery Profession (ODP) Framework- Grade 6 & 7 Leadership and Management: Connections and Communication (Expert) and Operational Leadership and Management (Expert)

Experience
You will also be required to create and deliver a presentation to assess Delivering at Pace and Leadership. Guidance will be provided if you are invited to interview.
The interviews will take place from Tuesday 25th August 2026.
This interview will be conducted in person at our Swansea office (DVLA Swansea, Longview Road, Morriston, Swansea, SA6 7JL). Further details will be provided to you should you be selected for interview.

Pre-employment Checking
Applicants who are successful at interview will be, as part of pre-employment screening, subject to a check on the Internal Fraud Database (IFD).
