Overview
We are seeking a professional LGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods across designated routes, ensuring timely and secure transportation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on safety and customer service. Applicants must hold a valid LGV licence and have relevant driving experience, preferably within commercial or delivery sectors. Hiab Certification or similar is also a requirement.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in compliance with road safety regulations
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status and any unforeseen delays
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including vehicle safety protocols and load securing procedures
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, ensuring goods are delivered in pristine condition
Skills
- Proven experience as a driving or delivery driver, with LGV or HGV licences
- Valid Hiab lorry mounted crane certification.
- Knowledge of flatbed operations and secure cargo handling techniques
- Strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and road safety standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good communication skills to liaise with clients and team members effectively
- Ability to operate various types of commercial vehicles with confidence
- Prior experience with delivery routes is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
