Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Body Repair Technician to join our busy workshop. You will be responsible for restoring damaged vehicles to their original condition and aesthetic finish, ensuring all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Whether you are a specialist Panel Beater, a Paint Sprayer, or a Multi-Skilled Technician, your goal is to provide high-quality craftsmanship while maintaining efficient turnaround times.
Key Responsibilities
- Damage Assessment: Evaluate vehicle damage, determine the most effective repair method and prepare cost estimates
- Panel Repair: Straighten bent frames, remove dents, and repair damaged body panels using specialised tools and pulling equipment
- Component Replacement: Remove and refit trim, mechanical parts, and electrical components as required to access repair areas
- Surface Preparation: Sanding, filling, and masking vehicles in preparation for painting
- Refinishing: Apply primers, base coats, and clear coats using spray booth technology; ensure accurate colour matching
- Quality Control: Conduct final checks to ensure the finish is satisfactory and the vehicle is structurally sound
- Compliance: Adhere to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience working in a UK-based bodyshop or accident repair centre
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Vehicle Body Repair/Paint Refinishing is highly preferred
- ATA/IMI Accreditation: Current ATA (Automotive Technician Accreditation) or IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry Accreditation) is a significant advantage
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with modern repair techniques, including bonding, riveting, and plastic welding
- Attention to Detail: An "eye for perfection" regarding body lines, gaps, and paint finishes
- Soft skills: Comfortable working autonomously and using own initiative to organise and prioritise work in order to achieve the desired outcomes
- Driving Licence: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential

Pay: £38,000.00-£44,000.00 per year
