The role

We are seeking a legal property assistant. In this proactive role you will support the Residential & Commercial Solicitor within a very busy property department. This is a varied and hands-on position, ideal for someone with property law experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple tasks efficiently. Joining our small team, this is a great opportunity to take on a role that you can really make your own.

Responsibilities include:

Sending out quotes to prospective clients.
Opening new files and carrying out client due diligence, including ID checks and AML compliance.
Preparing and issuing client care letters and terms of engagement.
Liaising with clients to obtain initial documentation and information.
Receiving and arranging funds.
Assisting with a range of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion (to include purchases, sales, remortgages, probate sales, transfers, and redemptions).
Supporting on commercial property transactions as required.
Preparing contract packs and legal documentation.
Ordering searches and managing search results.
Drafting standard correspondence and documents.
Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, and third parties.
Submitting SDLT returns and dealing with post completion work.
Dealing with Land Registry applications/registrations/requisitions.

The person

Experience in residential conveyancing (essential).
Commercial property experience would be ideal, but not essential.
Strong understanding of the conveyancing process.
Familiarity with Land Registry and SDLT submissions.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Knowledge of LEAP software (beneficial but not essential).

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
