This is the ideal role to develop an early grounding in a varied and interesting area of work. You will learn about the UK tax system, in England and Wales, how different taxes are computed, the reliefs that reduce them and how they are administered. This will be supported by a study package to support you to achieve the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) qualification.

Job description
- Self-manage a small portfolio of clients including owners of Private companies, high net worth individuals, Partnerships and Trusts, under the guide of the firm’s tax consultants and manager
- Request and collate information
- Prepare and submit self-assessments for clients
- Advise payment amounts and deadlines
- Maintain client relations through email and telephone contact, support others in client meetings
- Correspond with HMRC concerning routine tax matters (i.e. tax codes, checking repayments/tax calculations), complex tax cases and dealing with HMRC enquiries
- Assist in the administration of client invoicing
- Undertake to study for the first level of exams with full support provided
- Develop understanding of Money Laundering Regulations, General Data Protection and workplace Equality, inclusion and diversity.

To be successful in this role you must:
- Have good IT capabilities and the ability to use Microsoft Office Package comfortably
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills
- Able to communicate clearly and confidently both verbally and in writing
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Be self-motivated to achieve at work and in your studies
- Have a proactive approach to delivering a first class and professional service to our clients
- Be enthusiastic to learn and assist others
- Be organised and able to meet deadlines
Preferred academic requirements
- A level grades B or above
- GCSE grade 5 or above in Maths and English
Working arrangements
The working week: Normal hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, to be worked from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
Location: Principal work base is our Newbury Office.
