About Gardenia
Gardenia is a busy, full-service florist with a vibrant shop, a strong weddings and events portfolio, corporate clients, a thriving online store, and a growing flower subscription service.
We pride ourselves on exceptional service, flowers that truly wow, and creating a space where our customers, community, and team feel at home. Our aim is simple: to brighten every day.
Sustainability sits at the heart of everything we do. All our packaging is home-compostable, 100% of our flower waste is composted, we've sent no waste to landfill since 2017, and we don't use single-use plastics.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced, reliable florist who enjoys the variety that comes with working in a busy independent florist. One day you might be creating hand-tied bouquets for the shop, the next preparing wedding flowers or installing displays for one of our corporate clients.
You'll take pride in your work, enjoy working as part of a close-knit team, and remain calm and organised during busy periods.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role in a fast-paced creative environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening and closing the shop
- Creating beautiful hand-tied bouquets and bespoke arrangements
- Conditioning flowers and maintaining excellent stock quality
- Merchandising the shop with fresh seasonal displays
- Serving customers and delivering exceptional customer service
- Processing telephone, email and online orders
- Assisting with weddings, events and corporate installations
- Helping prepare and load deliveries
- Coordinating with our delivery driver
- Maintaining high standards of presentation and housekeeping throughout the shop
Development & Growth
We're a progressive independent florist and believe in developing people around their strengths.
As the business grows, there will be opportunities to take on additional responsibility in areas such as weddings, events, buying, merchandising, training or operations, depending on your interests and experience.
The Team
You'll be joining an experienced, supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together.
Gardenia is founder-led, and our founder is a Director of the British Florist Association. We're passionate about craftsmanship, sustainability and continually improving what we do.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- At least 2 years' experience working in a professional florist
- Preferred: A recognised floristry qualification
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Confidence using EPOS and online ordering systems
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good organisation and time management
- A positive, practical attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
This role would suit someone who loves the pace and variety of a busy florist and enjoys creating beautiful work every day.
