About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding leadership role with responsibility for the safe, effective and well-organised running of the hospice ward.

You will provide day-to-day operational leadership, including oversight of staffing, rostering, bed management, quality improvement and people management, while helping to create a positive, supportive and high-performing culture for staff.

The role requires confidence in decision-making, prioritisation and managing competing demands, including operational and HR responsibilities. However, you will be part of a supportive leadership structure and will have the opportunity to develop, influence and make a meaningful difference to the service.

About You

You will bring:

A compassionate, confident and inspiring leadership style
Experience of operational and people management, with a track record of leading teams effectively
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and remain calm under pressure
Experience of, or an understanding of, complex care, palliative care or services for children and young people
A proactive, solution-focused approach to service improvement
The confidence to work autonomously while building strong partnerships across teams
