Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker / Relief HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the yard and ensuring that all operations run smoothly. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working outdoors and has experience with driving and handling fork lift trucks and HGV delivery Trucks.
Duties
- To Provide a friendly, knowledgeable service to customers in the yard
- Safely receiving and organising deliveries - Help keep the yard tidy and secure
- Help with vehicle loading and unloading - Help the team get deliveries out on time
- Making occasional local deliveries on HGV Crane and Tipper Trucks – When cover is needed (e.g. holidays or absences) and at busy times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and safety proceedures are adhered to.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Yard Worker and a HGV driver in a similar role is preferred.
- You’ll need a Class 2 licence for this role, along with a Cranelicence and Forklift licence.
- A valid driving licence is required, with a strong emphasis on safety and responsibility while operating vehicles.
