HOURS: Full time 35 hours (7 hour day) Monday to Friday. Hybrid working. Please note also open to applicants looking for a 4 day/part time position

Summary
Due to growth, an opportunity has arisen to join an established team as a Finance Officer. Candidates must have a good understanding of working within a finance team and to be competent with accounting transactions.
The Person:
· A competent & reliable individual
· Experience of accounting software
· Sound knowledge of Microsoft packages – Outlook, Teams etc
· Competent MS Excel user
· AAT Accounting level 2 or equivalent
· Accurate with an eye for detail
· Analytical approach experienced in working to deadlines
· Good knowledge of the Purchase and Sales ledger process
· Confidence in handling petty cash and posting cash transactions
· Keen to develop a career in finance.
· Team player who can work to the organisations mission, vision and values.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Working across multiple organisations
· Purchase ledger
· Sales ledger
· Data inputting onto accounting software
· Working to deadlines for supplier payment processing
· Deal with any purchasing and sales queries
· Support with credit control
· Support with staff credit cards
· Bank and credit card reconciliation
· Handle, maintain and record petty cash
· Support with monthly timesheets and payroll
· Assistance with the year-end process
· Support with recording and tracking of Grant & fundraising income
· Assist and support the finance team
· Ad-Hoc duties as and when required
NOTE: In accordance with the Trust’s flexibility policy, the post holder will be required to undertake any other duties considered commensurate with this position, as directed by The Senior Management Team of Petty Pool, or as a mutually agreed developmental opportunity.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Minimum GCSE Maths and English Grade C or equivalent
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel user with an interest in building skills
- IT skills in MS Office applications including Teams
- Have experience of working in Finance role
- Experience of Purchase ledger and Sales ledger functions
Desirable
- AAT Level 2 or working towards
- Demonstrable evidence of continuous self-development
- Experience of working with Sage 50
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Demonstrated eye for detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, with differing timelines
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work to competing deadlines
- Honest, trustworthy and competent in handling cash

- Previous experience in equivalent environment - small business / education
