Berry and Escott Engineering provide bespoke manufacturing of high value and quality components for various industries.
We have a vacancy within our Stores department as a Stores Operative /Materials Handler.
Materials Handling, Goods in:
- Receiving orders raised by our Purchaser in preparation for receipt of goods.
- Unloading of goods delivered.
- Checking deliveries comply with Purchase orders i.e.
1. Material grades and dimensions are correct.
2. Quantities are delivered in full.
3. Material certification checks ensuring compliance against the purchase orders.
- Allocating materials to the correct location and recorded on the system in preparation for production.
- Logging of all documentation on the system.
- Arranging of goods returns to the supplier where applicable.
Materials Handling, Goods out:
- Packaging of finished goods to ensure they are adequately protected.
- Printing of Delivery notes.
- Loading of goods onto vehicles.
- Arrangement of Couriers where required.
Other General Duties Include:
- Delivering goods to our customers.
- Daily/weekly vehicle checks.
- Some goods finishing.
- Assisting with Production where required to meet the business needs.
Attributes for the role:
- Strong computer skills in the use of Microsoft Office complete suite.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Have a positive attitude and want to make a difference.
- Able to act in a professional manner.
- Must have good teamwork ethics.
Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience of working in a similar engineering environment would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of steel types and plastics would be an advantage.
- A full clean driving licence.
- Experience of driving a Forklift Truck would be an advantage.
