Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications accurately, providing expert advice on medication use, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient safety and well-being are paramount. The Pharmacist will play a vital role in supporting healthcare professionals and educating patients about their treatments.

Duties

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with legal and professional standards
Provide comprehensive medication counselling to patients, including usage instructions and potential side effects
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient treatment plans
Monitor patient responses to medication and adjust prescriptions as necessary in consultation with prescribing physicians
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all dispensed medications and patient interactions
Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, regulations, and organisational policies
Oversee the storage, handling, and disposal of pharmaceuticals safely and efficiently
Educate patients on medication adherence, lifestyle modifications, and health management strategies
Participate in continuous professional development activities to stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice

Skills

Strong commitment to patient care with excellent communication skills
Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately and provide appropriate advice on medication use
Organised with exceptional attention to detail to minimise errors in dispensing medications
Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced healthcare setting
Proficient in using pharmacy management systems and relevant computer software

Requirements

Current GPHC Registration
Experience working in a community pharmacy setting

This position requires a qualified Pharmacist committed to delivering outstanding patient care while adhering to all legal, ethical, and organisational standards. The role offers an engaging environment for professional growth within the healthcare sector.
