Home to School Driver (Term Time Only + Overtime Available)

Techxi is looking for caring, reliable, and professional drivers to join our team, transporting children and adults with additional needs safely to and from school.
This is a rewarding, structured role that offers consistent weekday work during term time, with the flexibility of overtime and all school holidays off.

This role is not suitable for:
- Parents/guardians needing to take their own children to school
- Anyone unable to work Monday to Friday (AM & PM shifts)
- Candidates looking for full-time hours
Start Dates & Timeline
- Our next training course takes place on 28th May with an Additional Course on 30th June and 30th July
- From course completion to being fully badged, typically takes 4–8 weeks
- Due to the school year cycle, most new starters at this stage are likely to begin work from September 2026

What a Typical Day Looks Like (25-Hour Contract Guide)
Morning Run
- Engine start: ~7:00am
- Collect Passenger Assistant
- Collect passengers
- Arrive at school: 8:00am – 8:45am
- Drop Passenger Assistant home
- Finish: approx. 9:00am – 10:00am
Afternoon Run
- Engine restart: 2:00pm – 2:30pm
- Collect Passenger Assistant
- Collect passengers from school
- Drop passengers home
- Drop Passenger Assistant home
- Finish: approx. 4:00pm – 5:00pm
These times are a guide only — exact routes and schedules are confirmed during onboarding.
Pay & Hours (From September 2026)
- Base hourly rate: £12.90
- Rolled-up holiday pay: £1.56
- Total hourly rate: £14.46
Updated Pay Structure
From September 2026, pay will move to a “hours worked” model (21st–20th payroll period) instead of equal monthly payments.
- Higher earnings in most working months
- School holidays will have reduced earnings unless supplemented with overtime
Hours
- Typically 20–30 hours per week (term time only)
- Split shifts: morning & afternoon (Monday–Friday)
- Overtime available:
- Between school runs
- Weekends
- School holidays
What You’ll Do
- Safely transport passengers from home to school and back
- Provide a calm, friendly, and professional service
- Work closely with a Passenger Assistant
- Maintain a clean and well-presented pool vehicle
What You’ll Need
- Full UK driving licence (held 1+ year)
- Right to work in the UK
- Willingness to complete:
- Enhanced DBS check
- Group 2 medical
- 1-day Private Hire Licence course

- Vehicles are assigned based on the needs of the school run. The biggest vehicle available is an 8 seater mini van, the smallest is 4 seater family car. Are you comfortable driving a van sized vehicle?
- School runs are typically between 20-30 hours per week. Are you aiming to be at the Higher or Lower end of this scale?
