Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating metal components and assemblies with precision and efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your welding and fabrication expertise within a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality projects and products.

Duties

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fabrication requirements.
Operate various fabrication equipment, including TIG welders and other welding machines, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
Use hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal working equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts.
Perform welding tasks using TIG welding techniques and other welding processes suitable for the project.
Fabricate components from sheet metal, ensuring accuracy in dimensions and quality standards.
Assist in the assembly of fabricated parts into finished products or sub-assemblies.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Conduct quality checks on finished work to ensure compliance with specifications.

Skills

Proficiency in TIG welding and other welding techniques relevant to applicable welding standards.
Experience with hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication processes.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during fabrication processes.
Knowledge of assembly procedures for metal components and structures.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in metal fabrication who are committed to precision craftsmanship and safety standards within the manufacturing industry.
