Position Description:
Responsible for the financial health of production activities of Lionweld Kennedy. They calculate product costs, control inventory, analyse material waste, and investigate cost variances(both production, and overheads). Bridging the gap between the finance department and the factory floor, they turn operational data into actionable strategies that improve profitability.
Responsibilities:
- Standard Costing: Develop and maintain accurate standard costs for materials, labour, and overheads.
- Variance Analysis(Manufacturing): Compare actual manufacturing costs to standard costs. Investigate discrepancies (e.g., Purchase Price Variances) and work with floor managers to find root causes.
- Variance Analysis(Overheads): Compare actual overhead costs to budget costs. Investigate discrepancies, and help identify cost savings opportunities.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, Work in Progress (WIP), and finished goods. Lead physical stock counts and monitor cycle counts.
- BOM & Routing Maintenance: Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) accurately reflect the real-world manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare periodic cost reports, sales margin analyses, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) reports for management. Help provide information as required to complete monthly accounts within Group reporting timetable.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in annual budget preparations and ongoing OPEX (operational expenditure) and forecasting activities.
- Cost Reduction(Manufacturing): Provide financial analysis for cost-saving initiatives, waste reduction, and continuous improvement projects, by working with production, and purchase departments.
Position: Full Time with an immediate start
Hours of work: Mon- Thursday 9.00am -17.00pm, Friday 8.00am – 2.00pm
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience
Holidays: Full time – 25 days per year (Holiday year Jan – Dec) + 8 Bank holidays, Pro rata for part time.
Life Insurance: 3 times basic salary whilst in employment
Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment if meet criteria, 5% Employee, 3% Employer. After 1 year in April – Age related up to max 6.5%.
