We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on Housekeeping Checker/Cleaner to join our team at The Astbury Golf & Lodge Resort in Bridgnorth.
This role is ideal for someone with previous housekeeping experience who enjoys leading by example, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in delivering exceptional standards. You'll support the Housekeeping Supervisor with the day-to-day running of the department while helping ensure every lodge is presented to the highest standard for arriving guests.
Please note: Due to the location of the site, own transport is essential.
The Role
As a Housekeeping Checker/Cleaner, you'll work closely with the Housekeeping Supervisor to ensure the smooth running of the housekeeping operation. You'll inspect completed cleans, support and motivate the housekeeping team, and assist with cleaning lodges during busy periods.
You'll also take responsibility for the operation when the Housekeeping Supervisor is off, ensuring workloads are managed effectively and standards are maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and inspecting holiday lodges to company standards
- Supporting the housekeeping team
- Assisting the Housekeeping supervisor with day-to-day tasks.
- Preparing and replenishing cleaning products, equipment and supplies
- Carrying out quality inspections before guest arrivals
- Supporting cleaners throughout the day to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Helping ensure all accommodation is guest-ready for the 4:00pm check-in
- Using digital reporting systems accurately
- Monitoring inventories and reporting missing or damaged items
- Completing basic administrative tasks when covering the Housekeeping Supervisor (Increased hourly rate for cover).
- Leading changeover operations in the Supervisor's absence (Increased hourly rate for cover).
Working Hours
- Typical shift: 9:00am – 4:00pm
- Main working days: Mondays and Fridays
- Additional shifts and overtime available during busy periods and holiday cover
What We're Looking For
- Previous housekeeping or hotel cleaning experience
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- A positive, reliable and proactive attitude
- Ability to motivate and support a small team
- Confidence to work independently when required
- Full UK driving licence and own transport
