This post is a 12-month Fixed Term Maternity cover offering a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their HR career in a supportive HR function.
As an HR Advisor you will have a key role in providing managers with appropriate support and guidance, ensuring the provision of a high quality and effective HR service and practice in line with NHS National Strategies that supports and drives continuous and improved performance.
The role requires excellent communication skills, effective time management, resilience and strong organisational and interpersonal skills in order to deliver an efficient and professional service to all our stakeholders.
An understanding of employment legislation, NHS terms and conditions of employment and HR Best practice would be advantageous but not essential. Experience of supporting sickness absence in addition to performance and disciplinary issues would be desirable.

This post is a hybrid working role, based in Stafford, supporting designated services within the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Care Group, which would require some travel to services across this area.

Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board
Under the guidance of the Senior HR Advisor provide support to line managers on a range of operational Human Resource issues, ensuring that Trust policies and standards are adhered to. Key areas of activity will be as follows:
1. To advise line managers on a range of employee relations issues in accordance with the Trust’s HR policies. Such issues may be
sensitive or contentious and the postholder will require influencing and persuasion skills to overcome resistance from employees and
managers.
2. To advise and support line managers in handling disciplinary cases, including participation in the investigation of cases as allocated by
the Senior HR Advisor. To advise in disciplinary hearings, supporting the Case Investigator in the presentation of their investigation
findings.
3. To advise and support line managers in the resolution of grievances and to participate in hearing the first stages of the procedure, as
allocated by the Senior HR Advisor. Complex cases will normally be managed by a more senior member of the human resources team.
4. Under the guidance of the Senior HR Advisor contribute to the development and delivery of the Trust training programmes relating to the implementation and operation of HR policies and procedures where required.
