Full job description

We are looking for a Sports Lead Mentor / Lead Coach to lead PE Lessons and after-school sessions, mentor junior staff and apprentices, and help us maintain excellent standards in PE and school sport.

For suitable candidates, this role is designed to develop into a full-time position at our partner site Walsall Gamefit (walsallgamefit.co.uk), mentoring both staff and volunteers in an exciting new programme of activities. We would be open for suitable candidates and graduates who may wish to consider a higher-level apprenticeship program or higher degree training or support.

Key responsibilities

Plan and deliver fun, inclusive PE lessons and after-school clubs for children aged 5–11
Lead sessions independently, ensuring safety, quality and strong behaviour management
Motivate and challenge pupils of all abilities to participate and progress
Mentor assistant coaches and apprentices, modelling best practice
Liaise with school staff and support school sports events and festivals

About you

Passionate about working with children and young people
Sports Coaching / PE degree or NGB Level 2 (or higher) qualification
Experience delivering sports coaching in primary schools or similar settings
Strong behaviour management and inclusive practice
Excellent communicator, well organised, adaptable and professional
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
