We are looking to recruit 6 skilled and detail-oriented Assemblers to join our Production team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the assembly of precision instruments, specialised testing equipment, and sub-assemblies within a benchwork manufacturing environment.
Working from engineering drawings, work instructions, and build documentation, you will carry out electro-mechanical assembly activities using a variety of handheld and portable tools while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
The role requires a practical hands-on individual with experience in both mechanical assembly and basic electrical wiring.
Key Responsibilities
· Assemble instruments, testing equipment, and sub-assemblies to specification and quality standards.
· Perform benchwork assembly using a range of hand tools, portable power tools, and assembly equipment.
· Complete mechanical fitting, electrical wiring, cable preparation, and component installation activities.
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and build documentation.
· Carry out basic electrical testing and inspection activities where required.
· Complete production tasks within agreed timescales, ensuring all documentation, quality records, and system transactions are accurately maintained.
· Conduct self-inspection and quality checks to ensure right-first-time assembly.
· Identify build issues and contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.
· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
· Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Essentials
· Minimum 2-3 years' experience in an assembly, manufacturing, or production environment.
· Experience in electro-mechanical assembly and/or benchwork manufacturing.
· Competent in the use of hand tools, power tools and portable assembly equipment.
· Experience with mechanical assembly, fitting and component installation.
· Experience with electrical wiring, cable preparation and soldering.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring schematics and assembly instructions.
· Good practical engineering and fault-finding skills.
· Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
· Basic IT skills for production systems and documentation.
· Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Desirable
· NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or related discipline.
· Experience working with pneumatic systems, tubing and gas handling equipment.
· Experience assembling precision instruments or low-volume, high-quality engineered products.
· Understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement princ

Pay: Up to £32,000.00 per year
