Andros in the UK is a major supplier of ambient fruit-based conserves and chilled yogurts and desserts, with its commercial operations based in Hammersmith dealing directly with all major retailers and sectors within the UK. They acquired in 2008, the Oldford dairy site (Somerset) and heavily invested in new, state-of-the-art, chilled desserts product lines, unique on the market.
To support this growth we are now seeking a Utilities Technician to join our experienced team.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day operation and basic maintenance of site utility systems, including steam, water, HVAC and compressed air
- Carry out routine inspections, monitoring tasks, and planned preventative maintenance activities in line with site schedules
- Assist with fault finding and repairs, escalating complex or recurring issues to the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager
- Support the maintenance of utility service levels to meet production requirements
- Undertake routine monitoring activities to support compliance with environmental and statutory requirements
- Assist with water treatment, effluent systems, and chemical dosing processes under supervisio
- Operate and monitor plant equipment such as cooling towers, air handling units and building management systems within defined procedures
- Record readings, complete maintenance documentation, and report any deviations or concerns promptly
- Support site standards by following safe systems of work, risk assessments and company policies
- Work collaboratively with other engineering and production teams to support maintenance activities
- Maintain housekeeping standards in all utilities areas
Candidate Profile
- Minimum NVQ level 3 / a recognised apprenticeship in Engineering
- Commitment to safe working practices
- Ability to read engineering diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with personnel at all levels
- Excellent time management with the added need for flexibility as and when required to meet business needs.

- The role is based full time in Oldford, Frome in Somerset

Pay: £32,000.00-£37,000.00 per year
