Join Our Outstanding Theatre Team

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Theatre Practitioner to join our perioperative team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality patient care across the perioperative pathway.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to creating a positive patient experience while ensuring the highest standards of clinical practice, safety, and professionalism.

About the role

As a Theatre Practitioner, you will:

Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care for patients throughout the perioperative phase.
Prepare and support patients before, during and after surgical procedures.
Accurately record and maintain patient information using relevant IT systems.
Ensure clinical areas are safe, fit for purpose and maintained to the highest standards.
Maintain the safe custody, storage and administration of medications and controlled drugs in accordance with policy and legislation.
Assist with endoscopy procedures when required.
Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the wider theatre team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Contribute to maintaining a professional, supportive and positive team environment.

Skills and experience required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential Requirements

First Level Registered Nurse (NMC) or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP).
Strong patient-centred approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organise, prioritise and problem-solve effectively on a case-by-case basis.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and web-based reporting systems.
Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
Commitment to fostering a positive team culture and high standards of professionalism.
Demonstrable honesty, integrity and ethical practice.

Desirable

Post-registration education and/or experience in a relevant theatre speciality, including:
- Scrub
- Anaesthetics
- Recovery
