Swimming Instructor Vacancy

Ashford School runs an extensive and well managed Swimming Programme that utilises both its swimming pools on its sites in Ashford.
The school is looking for Level 2 Swimming Instructors to join the friendly and professional team from September 2023, initially to teach as part of the Community Learn to Swim Programme, with opportunities to join other areas of the teaching and coaching programme as slots become available. The successful candidate should ideally have a background in aquatics and have a true love of teaching, ideally including experience of teaching Adult & Child swimming lessons. Evenings and Weekends with the potential for daytime lessons.
Pre-requisites for the post include:
- Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification (essential)
- Lifesaving or Teachers Rescue Qualification (essential)
- Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers (desirable)
- Level 1 Coaching Qualification (desirable)
The school’s swimming programme includes:
- Curriculum teaching from Nursery to Year 9
- Squad swimming as part of ‘Games’ and for the Ashford School Swimming Club
- Primary School Programme and Community Learn to Swim Programme including lessons for Duckling, Learn to Swim Stages 1 to 6, Swim Academy (Stage 6 and above), Water Polo, Adults (beginners, improvers and training), and Crash Courses.
Additional hours are available during term breaks for crash courses and to cover on curriculum and squad sessions.
