Full job description

Assistant Chef (Full Time) | The George Inn | Cambridge, GL2

48 hours per week | Two consecutive weekdays off

The George Inn is a busy, food-led village pub serving quality British dishes made with fresh ingredients. We're looking for a talented Assistant Chef (or an ambitious Chef de Partie ready to take the next step) to work alongside and support our Head Chef in delivering consistently excellent food and maintaining a high-performing kitchen.

What you'll be doing

Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
Assisting with menu development and daily specials
Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to consistently high standards
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
Helping to train and support junior team members
Ensuring smooth service during busy periods

What we're looking for

Previous experience as an Assistant Chef, Sous Chef or Chef de Partie
A positive attitude and strong work ethic
Passion for producing quality food
The ability to work well under pressure as part of a team
Reliable transport is essential due to our rural location
