Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all areas meet hygiene standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional hospitality environment, whether you are starting your career or looking to develop your skills further. The position is paid and suitable for individuals passionate about hospitality and culinary arts.

Responsibilities

Washing, peeling, and preparing ingredients for cooking and service
Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards
Supporting chefs with organising supplies and stock rotation
Ensuring all areas of the kitchen are kept clean, tidy, and safe at all times
Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health regulations
Supporting serving staff during busy periods as required
Adhering to all health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment

Qualifications

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential
Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety procedures
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards colleagues and customers
