Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and baking, providing exceptional customer service, and maintain a clean and welcoming environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers enjoy their experience while adhering to food safety standards. We are looking for someone to work 3/4 days per week, including Saturdays. Please do not apply if you are not able to work most Saturdays. We are getting busier and busier so we are looking for someone that can hit the ground running and help us scale up the kitchen to cope with increased demand.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of food and baked goods, pastries, breakfast, lunch and light meals.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
- Assist customers with their orders, providing recommendations and answering any questions they may have.
- Manage inventory levels by restocking supplies as needed and reporting any shortages to management.
- Maintain a clean and tidy workspace and maintain logs in line with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during busy periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a kitchen as a chef, cook, chefs assistant or baker.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices to ensure the highest standards are met.
- Experience in food preparation and serving is essential.
- Excellent time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A friendly attitude with strong communication skills to engage effectively with customers and colleagues.
