We are seeking a motivated and experienced Immigration and Family Solicitor to join our growing legal team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of immigration and family law matters, provide high-quality legal advice, maintain excellent client care standards, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, effective case management skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Immigration Law
- Manage a caseload of privately funded and, where applicable, legal aid immigration matters.
- Advise and represent clients in relation to:
- Entry Clearance Applications
- Spouse, Partner and Family Visas
- Skilled Worker and Business Immigration Applications
- Indefinite Leave to Remain Applications
- British Citizenship and Nationality Applications
- Human Rights Applications
- Asylum and Protection Claims
- Appeals and Administrative Reviews
- Deportation and Detention Matters
- Prepare legal representations, witness statements, applications, and supporting documents.
- Liaise with the Home Office, courts, tribunals, counsel, experts, and third parties.
Family Law
- Manage a caseload of family law matters including:
- Divorce and Dissolution Proceedings
- Financial Remedy Matters
- Child Arrangements Orders
- Specific Issue and Prohibited Steps Orders
- Domestic Abuse Injunctions
- Private Children Law Matters
- Separation and Cohabitation Disputes
- Draft court applications, statements, consent orders, and correspondence.
- Represent clients at court hearings where appropriate.
- Liaise with counsel, courts, social services, and other relevant agencies.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
- Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations.
- Meet billing, fee income, and performance targets where applicable.
- Deliver exceptional client care and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Undertake legal research and keep up to date with legislative changes.
- Assist with business development, networking, and marketing activities.
- Support and supervise paralegals, trainees, and junior staff where required.
- Participate in departmental and firm-wide meetings and training.
Person SpecificationEssential
- Qualified Solicitor in England and Wales. (1-3 years PQE)
- Experience managing immigration and/or family law matters independently.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, case law, and procedures.
- Excellent drafting, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Pay: £36,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
