Full job description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Warehouse Manager to lead and support our warehouse operations. This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys being on the warehouse floor, leading by example, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including goods inwards, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch
Manage, motivate, and support warehouse staff to achieve productivity and accuracy targets
Be hands-on in daily tasks when required, especially during busy periods
Ensure stock control, inventory accuracy, and regular stock checks
Implement and maintain health & safety procedures and ensure compliance
Monitor performance, manage rotas, and support training and development of team members
Liaise with transport, suppliers, and internal departments to meet delivery deadlines
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency

About You

Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or Senior Warehouse Supervisor
Strong hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front
Excellent people management and communication skills
Good understanding of warehouse systems and stock management
Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations
Organised, reliable, and able to work under pressure
Forklift licence and warehouse certifications essential
