HR Business Partner Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.
What will you do?
In this pivotal role, you will act as a trusted HR partner to leadership, driving organisational effectiveness and enabling performance across the programme. Your work will ensure that the people strategy aligns seamlessly with project milestones and long-term goals. Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with senior stakeholders to provide strategic HR guidance on organisational design, workforce planning, employee relations, and performance management.
- Supporting organisational growth by designing scalable team structures, clarifying roles, and embedding career pathways that align with programme delivery.
- Leading the annual resource planning process, maintaining a rolling three-year workforce plan that adapts to evolving project priorities.
- Overseeing the delivery of core HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, HRIS updates, and compliance requirements.
- Contributing to the development and execution of the people strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Leveraging HR data and analytics to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Collaborating with leaders to deliver talent acquisition plans and succession planning, addressing current and future capability needs.
- Promoting and embedding the desired organisational culture by role-modelling expected behaviours and driving engagement.
- Ensuring high-quality, efficient HR service delivery in partnership with the HR operations team.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR professional who thrives in complex, high-pressure environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- A proven ability to build collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and stakeholders to drive strategic HR objectives.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking skills, with experience navigating complex projects.
- Extensive experience in senior HR operations, people management, and strategic workforce planning.
- Proficiency in digital HR tools and platforms, including Office 365 and HR information systems.
- Significant experience leading HR or People Support functions within large, complex organisations or projects.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and high-performing culture, aligned with the CWA’s core values.
Desirable:
- Chartered or equivalent HR qualification (CIPD Level 5 or above) or substantial equivalent experience.
- Experience delivering HR strategy within major projects or programmes, particularly in multi-stakeholder environments.
- Exposure to the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors, with an understanding of workforce and compliance requirements.
