We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our busy catering department at our sports and conference venue.
This is a hands-on management role within a well-established catering operation delivering high-quality conference buffets, event catering and matchday hospitality. The successful candidate will take ownership of the kitchen, ensuring excellent food quality, efficient operations and strong financial performance.
Our catering operation supports conferences, corporate events, private functions and sporting fixtures throughout the year, with additional casual kitchen staff available to support larger events and busy matchdays.
The Role
As Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the day-to-day running of the kitchen
- Preparing and producing high-quality buffet, conference and event catering
- Planning kitchen production and organising daily preparation
- Managing stock control, ordering and supplier relationships
- Monitoring food costs and maintaining agreed gross profit (GP) targets
- Minimising waste and driving kitchen efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with all food safety, hygiene and allergen legislation
- Leading, motivating and supporting the kitchen team
- Organising and supervising casual kitchen staff during larger events and matchdays
- Maintaining consistently high standards of food quality and presentation
- Supporting menu development and continuous improvement of the catering offer
- Working closely with the wider hospitality and events team to deliver successful conferences, functions and sporting events
About You
You will:
- Have previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to take the next step
- Be a confident leader who enjoys taking ownership of a kitchen
- Have experience managing food costs and achieving GP targets
- Be highly organised with excellent planning and time-management skills
- Have a thorough understanding of food safety, HACCP and allergen management
- Be passionate about producing consistently high-quality food
- Thrive in a busy events and hospitality environment
- Be flexible and reliable, with a positive attitude and a willingness to support the wider team
Experience within conference, events, banqueting, buffet catering or sports hospitality would be advantageous.
