Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Hotel Caretaker to oversee the maintenance and general upkeep of our hotel premises. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with experience in maintenance, supervising teams, and delivering excellent customer service. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a well-maintained environment, ensuring guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing routine repairs, overseeing safety protocols, and supervising maintenance staff as needed. Fluency in English and proven leadership skills are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct occasional inspections of hotel facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards
- Oversee fuel deliveries
- Carry out small maintenance tasks and repairs as required
- Supervise maintenance contractors, providing guidance and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Liaise with management to coordinate maintenance schedules and urgent repairs
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken
- Coordinate cleaning / housekeeping
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns related to facilities promptly and professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience in maintenance, electrical work, or mechanical repair within a hospitality or similar environment would be advantageous
- Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality customer service
- Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical or mechanical trades are advantageous
