Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Garden Machinery Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of garden machinery and equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand and power tools, and the ability to work efficiently to ensure equipment is in optimal condition for customer use. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about machinery and outdoor equipment to develop their skills within a supportive environment,with a review after trial period.

Responsibilities

Diagnose faults and perform repairs on various garden machinery including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power tools.
Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, blade sharpening, and part replacements to ensure optimal performance.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery.
Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operation before returning it to customers or stock.
Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Keep accurate records of repairs carried out and parts used.
Provide technical advice and support to customers regarding machinery maintenance and usage.

Requirements

Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in repairing garden or outdoor power equipment preferred.
Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, etc., as well as power tools like drills and grinders.
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues accurately and efficiently.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.

Pay: £24,420.00-£25,000.00 per year
