Help Shape the Future of Dec-Elec
We're not looking for someone to simply sign certificates.
We're looking for a leader.
At Dec-Elec, we've built a reputation for delivering high-quality electrical and renewable energy projects across South Wales. We work with local authorities, housing associations, commercial clients and private customers, and we're continuing to grow year after year.
With long-term contracts already secured, an expanding renewables division and the recent launch of our construction company, Dec-Build Ltd, we're now looking for an experienced Electrical Supervisor / Qualified Supervisor to become a key member of our leadership team.
This isn't just another supervisor's role.
You'll work closely with our Directors and Operations Team to drive quality, support our engineers, mentor apprentices, improve standards and help shape how the business grows over the coming years.
If you're looking for a role where your opinion matters and your experience genuinely makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As one of our Qualified Supervisors, you'll play a key role in maintaining our high technical standards while supporting the day-to-day delivery of projects across domestic, commercial and renewable sectors.
No two days are the same.
You'll split your time between site inspections, supporting engineers, solving technical challenges and working with our office team to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Your Responsibilities
- Act as one of the company's Qualified Supervisors (QS), ensuring compliance with BS7671 and NICEIC requirements.
- Carry out technical inspections, quality audits and post-installation checks.
- Support and mentor electricians and apprentices, promoting high standards across the business.
- Provide technical guidance to engineers and assist with complex fault finding.
- Work closely with the Operations Team to keep projects running efficiently.
- Assist with quotations, technical surveys and project planning.
- Help manage labour, materials and project resources.
- Promote excellent health and safety standards through site visits and toolbox talks.
- Review certification, EICRs and quality documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and raise standards across the business.
- Build positive relationships with customers, clients and our team.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys leading people just as much as solving technical problems.
You should have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification).
- Experience as an Electrical Supervisor, Qualified Supervisor or Contracts Manager.
- Strong knowledge of BS7671 and electrical compliance.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Confidence managing multiple projects and supporting a busy team.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine passion for quality workmanship.
Desirable
- Experience within social housing or public sector contracts.
- Solar PV and Battery Storage experience.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- NICEIC Qualified Supervisor experience.
What You'll Receive
- Salary: £50,000–£55,000
- Company vehicle and fuel card.
- Company pension.
- 28 days holiday including bank holidays.
- Ongoing training and professional development.
- Opportunities to progress as the business continues to grow.
- The chance to influence how a successful and ambitious business develops.
- A supportive leadership team that values ideas and encourages continuous improvement.
