About the role
NN Commercial Cleaning Ltd is looking for confident, reliable and motivated people to join our growing canvassing team in Northampton.
This is a part time PAYE position focused on generating new residential window cleaning customers through door to door canvassing.
You do not need to clean windows.
Your job is to speak with potential customers, introduce our window cleaning services, explain how the service works and secure new customers for our cleaning teams.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with people, is confident approaching new customers and wants the opportunity to earn additional commission based on results.
How the canvassing process works
At the beginning of the shift you will be allocated an area or location to canvass.
You will walk through residential areas and approach potential customers at their homes.
You will introduce yourself professionally as representing NN Commercial Cleaning Ltd and ask the customer whether they are interested in having their windows professionally cleaned.
You will explain our window cleaning service clearly, answer basic customer questions and provide the relevant pricing or service information supplied by the company.
When a customer agrees to the service, you will accurately record the required customer information and submit the new customer to the company.
The booking or sale is then checked and confirmed by the company.
Confirmed sales generated personally by you count towards your commission.
Our operational window cleaning teams will then carry out the cleaning service.
Your role is focused on customer acquisition and sales.
Pay and commission
Base pay: £12.71 per hour
You will be employed and paid through PAYE.
In addition to your hourly wage, you can earn commission on your personally generated confirmed sales.
For every £500 of confirmed sales generated by you, you will receive £70 commission.
For example:
- £500 confirmed sales equals £70 commission
- £1,000 confirmed sales equals £140 commission
- £1,500 confirmed sales equals £210 commission
Commission is additional to your normal hourly PAYE wage and is subject to company validation of the confirmed sales.
Working hours
Typical canvassing shifts are:
Monday to Friday
4:30 pm to 7:30 pm
This is a zero hours contract, therefore the number of hours offered may vary depending on operational requirements and available canvassing areas.
Applicants must be flexible and willing to work in different locations across Northampton and surrounding areas when required.

Previous experience is not essential as guidance and training will be provided.
However, previous experience in any of the following areas will be considered an advantage:
- Fundraising or promotional work
A valid driving licence is preferred but is not essential.
