About the Role:

The OGC Assistant - Compliance role is an integral part of Latham’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) team. This role will be responsible for supporting the firm’s regulatory compliance and risk management programs, including the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) program, while assisting with the Client Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Client (KYC) document collection and refresh processes for one or more assigned firm offices, including conducting corporate research; working with lawyers and support team members to ensure timely collection of required documentation, and identifying risk-related issues for escalation. This role will be located in our Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications:

Other key responsibilities include:

Responding to questions from lawyers and support team members in assigned offices regarding KYC document requirements and status of KYC document collection
Participating in assigned projects that support the firm’s compliance programs and/or Compliance Team Strategic Plan
Assisting in the collection of data for discreet projects, requests and gathering content for Compliance Team meetings
Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers

We’d love to hear from you if you:

Demonstrate well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with lawyers, management, support staff, and outside contacts
Display the ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus
Exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal

And have:

Prior experience in a law firm or other professional services firm, preferably
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably
