Full job description

Due to continued growth, PayStream Accounting Services Limited have an opening for a Legal Assistant to join our dedicated and highly skilled Legal Department.

Hours of work for this role are Monday – Friday, 09:00 – 17:30.

Hybrid working is available following training/probation (2 days at home per week, 3 days in the office)

Our Legal Department oversees all areas of our business ensuring we operate in compliance with the law, including employment and tax law. This covers our contractors in both Umbrella, PSC and other services, and in the relationships, we have with our agencies.

The Role:

Building knowledge and understanding of key legislation affecting the business in order to provide assistance where required for internal and external queries and to help to respond to contractor and agency / client issues that may arise
Assist the team as required with Legal Support inbox and to build up knowledge of our day-to-day processes
Use legal and technical knowledge to identify gaps where we are not currently meeting requirements or where further internal training may be needed

Ability to follow procedures
Excellent problem-solving skills
An analytical person with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to communicate clearly to clients, contractors and colleagues
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Ability to work effectively in a team
A quick learner who is able to understand and disseminate complex information quickly

Requirements:

Legal or law qualification highly desirable
Minimum grade C in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)
Working knowledge of Word and Excel
Experience working within a recruitment agency setting, Umbrella provider or working within a legal or compliance setting would be desirable; alternatively, an experience para-legal with experience in employment, contract or tax law
