<p><span><strong>Equans is looking for Maintenance Assistant to join our team onsite at Argyle House in Edinburgh, EH3 9DS. This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.<br><br>Working Hours: Monday to Friday 6am - 3pm (1 hour lunch)</strong></span></p> <p><span>We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support day-to-day maintenance activities and ensure equipment and plant run smoothly across our sites. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks, maintain records, and support the wider maintenance team. </span></p> <h4><span><strong><u>What will you deliver?</u></strong></span></h4> <ul> <li><span>Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) accurately and document all work in real time using PDAs, including logging start, wait, stop, completion, and travel times with comprehensive comments.</span></li> <li><span>Complete all relevant paperwork for PPM, reactive, and breakdown tasks, ensuring timely submission to the contract administrator; complete supplementary forms as required.</span></li> <li><span>Update client CAFM systems with detailed records of task progress and outcomes.</span></li> <li><span>Respond promptly to reactive maintenance tasks and identify areas for improvement; report plant failures and issue quotations to the line manager.</span></li> <li><span>Remedy plant faults swiftly within delegated authority or client authorization to maintain equipment serviceability.</span></li> <li><span>Maintain and manage spare parts inventory and provide parts lists and estimated timelines for remedial work.</span></li> <li><span>Conduct Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA) and ensure all tasks are executed with up-to-date Method Statements and Risk Assessments, adhering to strict safety and SHEQ standards.</span></li> <li><span>Operate the Permit to Work system following Equans and client protocols.</span></li> <li><span>Participate in mandatory and skills training to maintain competency.</span></li> <li><span>Foster strong working relationships with Equans staff, subcontractors, and client representatives.</span></li> <li><span>Uphold the professional image of Equans at all times.</span></li> <li><span>Maintain cleanliness and order of all plant rooms under Equans' responsibility.</span></li> <li><span>Supervise subcontractors on site during maintenance activities.</span></li> <li><span>Comply with contractual KPIs and SLAs and participate in regional on-call rotas for out-of-hours breakdown response.</span></li> <li><span>Ensure tools and test equipment are regularly audited and safe to use.</span></li> <li><span>Monitor and manage oil levels for heating systems, ordering supplies as necessary.</span></li> <li><span>Escort and provide site access to landlords, clients, and contractors, and oversee contractor inductions.</span></li> <li><span>Maintain regular communications with landlords, client staff, contractors, and on-site teams.</span></li> <li><span>Perform any additional Maintenance duties as reasonably requested.</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong><u>What can we offer you?</u></strong></span></p> <p><span>On offer is a competitive salary and excellent benefits package, which includes;</span></p> <ul> <li><span>24 days annual leave (+ public holidays)</span></li> <li><span>Life Cover equivalent to 1.5 times annual salary</span></li> <li><span>Employee discount shopping schemes on major brands and retailers</span></li> <li><span>Gym membership discounts </span></li> <li><span>Cycle to work scheme </span></li> <li><span>Holiday purchase scheme</span></li> <li><span>2 corporate social responsibility days per year</span></li> <li><span>Broad range of learning opportunities, such as professional qualifications, collective/individual training, and personalized support programmes</span></li> <li><span>Attractive Employee Referral Rewards Scheme</span></li> <li><span>Access to our growing employee networks including AccessAbility (representing those with physical and mental disabilities), Encompass (representing the LGBTQ+ community), RISE (representing people from ethnic backgrounds), Women Together (representing women in Equans), Working Parents, and Young Professionals.</span></li> <li><span>24/7 Employee Assistance Program and access to mental wellbeing app<br></span></li> </ul> <h4><span><strong><u><br>Who are we looking for?</u></strong></span></h4> <ul> <li><span>Experience of working in Facilities Management</span></li> <li><span>The enthusiasm to learn and take on a challenge</span></li> <li><span>Computer literate </span></li> <li><span>Good communicator within EQUANS Services, the clients, other service partners and suppliers.</span></li> <li><span>Able to deal diplomatically with the client’s demanding personnel</span></li> <li><span>Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised</span></li> <li><span>Able to work as part of a team</span></li> <li><span>Flexible and adaptable to change</span></li> <li><span>To maintain a clean and smart appearance at all times</span></li> <li><span>Be able to undertake a physical job. </span></li> <li><span>Fluent in English both written and oral.</span></li> <li><span>Must be available to participate in an out of hour’s standby rota.</span></li> </ul> <p><span><strong>Who are we?</strong> <br>In the UK & Ireland, Equans is a provider of sustainable facilities management and regeneration, and cutting-edge energy and digital services.
