Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic / Workshop Foreman to oversee and perform maintenance and repair tasks within our workshop. Duties
- Lead and supervise workshop staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols
- Diagnose faults in machinery using technical schematics and mechanical expertise
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and assembly of equipment using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Oversee the utilisation of equipment repair techniques, including welding and heavy lifting as required
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used
- Coordinate with clients or internal departments to ensure timely service delivery
- Train team members on proper use of tools, safety procedures, and repair techniques
- Ensure workshop complies with health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Strong understanding of schematics and technical drawings
- Extensive mechanical knowledge across various machinery and equipment types
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Experience in assembly, disassembly, and repair of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures to optimise equipment longevity
