Progress Engineering is a modern engineering and fabrication company providing bespoke manufacturing solutions across the food, pharmaceutical, industrial, marine and renewable sectors.
Following continued investment in our facilities, equipment and people, we are looking to recruit a Technical Administrator to strengthen our office team.
This is an excellent opportunity for either:
- An experienced Technical Administrator, Estimator or CAD professional looking for a varied role within a growing engineering business; or
- An experienced fabricator or sheet metal worker who understands engineering drawings and manufacturing processes and is looking to move into an office-based technical role.
If you have the right engineering knowledge and attitude, we are happy to provide AutoCAD training.
The Role
Working closely with management, production and customers, you'll play an important part in turning customer enquiries into successful manufacturing projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing quotations from customer drawings and specifications.
- Producing and amending AutoCAD drawings.
- Liaising with customers and suppliers regarding technical enquiries.
- Maintaining engineering documentation and drawing revisions.
- Preparing job packs and manufacturing documentation.
- Supporting production with technical and administrative requirements.
- Maintaining accurate information within our factory management system.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Good engineering knowledge with experience in fabrication or manufacturing.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn.
Desirable:
- AutoCAD experience.
- Previous estimating experience.
- Experience within fabrication, sheet metal or general engineering.
- Knowledge of SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality environment.
