We're looking for an experienced Senior Resource Scheduler - Field Operations to join our Customer Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and commercially minded professional who thrives on solving operational challenges, optimising workforce performance and using data to drive better outcomes.
This role goes beyond traditional scheduling. You'll play a key role in forecasting demand, modelling future workforce capacity and helping shape operational strategy for a field-based team of technicians. What You'll Be Doing
As our Senior Resource Scheduler, you'll be responsible for ensuring the right technician is in the right place at the right time, while balancing customer needs, operational efficiency and workforce productivity.
Key responsibilities include:
Resource Scheduling & Operational Coordination
- Managing and optimising daily and weekly schedules for field-based technicians
- Ensuring effective routing, work allocation and skill matching
- Monitoring live activity and proactively responding to changes, urgent requirements and operational challenges
- Acting as a key link between Customer Services, Operations and Field Teams
Forecasting & Workforce Planning
- Analysing historical data, demand trends and future workloads to forecast resource requirements
- Building and maintaining workforce capacity plans
- Producing scenario modelling to support business growth, seasonal demand and operational changes
- Providing recommendations that help leadership make informed workforce planning decisions
Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Monitoring utilisation, productivity, travel time, SLA performance and operational effectiveness
- Identifying opportunities to improve scheduling processes and workforce efficiency
- Supporting operational leaders with workforce planning, recruitment forecasting and resource strategies
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement through data-led decision making
Systems & Reporting
- Using scheduling and workforce management systems to optimise field operations
- Maintaining data integrity across planning and reporting platforms
- Producing meaningful operational insights and performance reports
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience in resource scheduling, workforce planning or field operations
- Experience working within a high-volume, multi-skilled operational environment
- Strong analytical skills with experience in forecasting, capacity planning or workforce modelling
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into practical recommendations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using scheduling or workforce management systems
Desirable
- Experience using routing, optimisation or field service management software
- Knowledge of Lean, Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence methodologies
- Experience within healthcare, medical services or another field-based operational environment
