Learner Services Advisor

Location: Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom

Salary: £26,300 to £28,800 per annum (FTE)

Employment type: Term-time only, contract, 37.5 hours per week

As a key part of our team, the Learner Services Advisor plays an essential role in delivering outstanding support to our students, ensuring they have the guidance and resources needed to succeed.

Role Overview

As a Learner Services Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting learners throughout their educational journey. You will be the first point of contact for learners, providing guidance, advice, and assistance to ensure they have a rewarding and successful experience with us. These roles will have a particular focus on high needs funded learners.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive support and guidance to learners, addressing enquiries related to course information, enrolment, and progression.
Maintain accurate learner records and update databases to ensure information is current and compliant with data protection standards.
Assist with induction processes, helping learners to settle in and understand available resources and support services.
Work closely with academic and administrative teams to coordinate learner support activities and resolve issues promptly.
Signpost learners to additional support services such as counselling, financial advice, and careers guidance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of learner services by gathering feedback and suggesting enhancements.
Support compliance with regulatory and funding body requirements through accurate record-keeping and reporting.
Provide specialist support appropriate to individal learners' needs, including learners with education and health care plans (EHCP's)

Qualifications and Skills

Experience working in a learner support, student services, or similar advisory role within the education sector.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively.
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Proficient IT skills, including experience with MS Office and learner management systems.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve their potential.
Knowledge of relevant educational policies, safeguarding, and data protection legislation is desirable.
